Throughout the year we run introductory courses to help people new to Saltwater Fly get started in this exciting sport. There are two main types of clinics. Those which are one day, off the water clinics which can be in held in various regions. The second type are based at Waihi Beach in the Bay of Plenty and comprise two days both on the water and off.

Retailers and many others have used these clinics as a basis for ensuring their stores stay up to date and "state of the art" in Saltwater techniques and rigging.

The emphasis on this clinic is to get you off to a flying start.... you'll advance yourself years in just one day and leave with the confidence to pursue saltwater species on fly.... This clinic will cover everything from tackle, state of the art rigging techniques to ensure the strongest possible connections for the strongest possible fish. Different techniques for most all of the the various species both land based and boat based, Casting techniques from light gear to heavy shooting heads, Fly Selection, Basic SWF Flytying, Fighting and landing fish and more. This will not be conducted on the water but an opportunity to have a cast in the Harbour will be available to those who wish to afterwards followed by a few social drinks back at home.
